The End of Blogs And Adsense

Just a bit of a "net" observation.

Lot's of chatter and rumors going around claiming that blogs will
be dead, they wont last, blog and ping is just a fad, programs like
adsense wont last etc.

All are nothing more than unsubstantiated BS. Please remember
that... it's all nothing but negativity that will not benefit you or
your online business in any way. It's fear-mongering and just
plain non-sense.

Do you really think blogs are a "fad" and going to fade away?

There are celebrities using them, professional journalists use them,
companies and people from all walks of life in probably every country on the planet are using them. The most popular search engines on the planet have their own blog networks. AOL has "journals" built right into their accounts.

Blogs have been exploding all over the world and will continue to
do so indefinitely... at least until new technology comes along to
improve it.

In many instances people start blogs in place of a standard website. What does that tell you... something so powerful and easy to use that replaces regular standard websites.

No my friends... blogs are going nowhere anytime soon.

Next up... the rumors about the adsense bubble crashing.

Do you really think adsense is going to disappear anytime soon?

Adsense continues to improve and continues to grow it's advertising base and publishing base by leaps and bounds every single day. Major networks like yahoo and MSN are building their own contextual advertising programs.

Do you think these powerhouses would get involved and build their
own business models around an industry that was going to crumble?

Exactly!

People have created giant businesses out of their blogs and around adsense alone. This is not small potatoes, there are million dollar+ a year businesses created around these services.

IMHO - This is just the foundation for a lot of exciting things
to come in the future for blogging and contextual advertising.

As for the rumors and BS.

Just let it go in one ear and out the other and get back to
"doing what you're doing" and you'll be laughing all the way
to the bank.

And that's no rumor!

To your success,

- Dave

Warning - Don't Get Trapped Into The Affiliate Egg Factor

What is the affiliate egg factor? We'll simply put it's what happens when affiliate marketers place all their affiliate eggs in the same basket.

When you are marketing online you need to use as many options as you possibly can to market your websites and affiliate businesses. You should spread your marketing out using as many different marketing methods as feasibly possible. Most marketers fail to do this and suffer drastic hits to their affiliate marketing business... usually overnight.

You should be using search engine marketing, pay per click advertising, article writing, reviewing, ezine advertising, newsletter publishing and a host of the other internet marketing tactics that are available to you. When you rely on just one or two marketing formats (lazy marketing) you are just asking for trouble right from the start.

A perfect example is the common "Google Death" trap that hits the internet every couple of months. Those marketers and affiliates that have all their eggs in the google basket often find themselves suddenly scrambling to replace thousands of dollars in monthly affiliate income because their pages have been suddenly dropped from the google search results.

Why does this happen?

Well in the google example, google is simply using a new method of ranking and displaying sites in their index. They are improving their search system and working on removing spam pages, and many times (most times) this will affect even legitimate sites who would never ever think of trying to spam. Google is a finicky beast and not reliable for consistent traffic. The more they tweak their system the more screwed up their results become and it will affect your traffic if you're solely relying on them.

People, the internet changes often, it twists and turns and rears it's head around from time to time so you have to be prepared in advance for changes. If you are focusing on one type of Internet marketing you are walking a tightrope made of yarn!

Another example that hit a lot of marketers in the pay per click field is when companies like overture, findwhat and the like started requiring minimum bids for their paid listings. Almost overnight people were forced to pay double to as high as five times their advertising costs basically forcing them right out of the service. Imagine the lost affiliate income from being forced to use a new marketing method. Many businesses went out of business because this turned out to be their sole source of customers. If these people had been using multiple marketing methods and advertising they would have simply suffered a slight bruise instead of the deadly beating they received.

So the moral of this story is; "don't put all your affiliate marketing eggs in the same basket or you might find your basket missing in the morning!"

Here's to your success,

Dave

Fun, Sun & Goals From Your Affiliate Marketing Business

Sometimes staying motivated can be a real problem for people just starting a business especially an online business. One major goal of starting your own business is to create more freedom not bury yourself in work.

Before you get started building your online business why not take some time out to make a list of things you want to achieve. I'm not talking about setting business goals here this is strictly for "you" for your fun and relaxation.

When you work from home and grow your online business successfully you will create freedom not only from stress and bills but freedom from being tied down. You'll be able to run your online affiliate business from anywhere in the world and you'll be able to pick up and go wherever you want, whenever you want. Now is the time to make a list of the places you want to see, things you want to do, things you wish you had.

The list you make now will become a powerful motivator while you're growing your affiliate business. Want to go to Nantucket? Get some pictures printed out, make a list of areas you want to visit, restaurants you want to dine at etc. Change your desktop wallpaper to a picture of the beach or mountains or wherever it is that you like to get away to.

Have kids? Just think of all the wonderful places and adventures you'll be able to take them on with all this new affiliate revenue. Working from home on your affiliate business creates more then just income, it creates freedom to do the things and obtain the things you've always dreamed about.

Keep your list nearby and add to it often, before you know it you'll be able to start crossing items off your list because you'll have turned those wants into reality.

So stop reading and start writing that list!

Here's to your success,

Dave,

Welcome To The Affiliate Journal

Hello and welcome to Affiliate Journal – The Affiliate Marketing Blog

So you’re probably wondering what this site is about and who’s running it huh? We’ll my name is David Christopher and I’m a professional full time affiliate marketer, which means I make a full time living from the internet and most of that income is derived directly from affiliate commissions. You can call me Dave, I hate being called David and hate it even worse when I’m called sir! Hey I’m no different from the next guy ok.

With that said let me tell you why I’ve started this blog. See, I’m one of those “hidden” affiliate marketers, the one’s that sit back quietly building up their net worth and building multiple income streams all while laughing at all the “self titled” Internet marketing gurus that claim to hold the next “secret” to the Internet.

Hmmmm the secret of Internet wealth for only 97 dollars huh. Give me a break; if any of these guys had some secret wealth system do you really think they would sell it to you at any price, let alone a few hundred bucks?

Come on say it with me, “B U L L S H I T”

That’s all it is nothing more nothing less... all hype and fluff.

A lot of this crap is a huge disservice to the affiliate marketing industry, they are part of the reason many affiliates end up with empty pockets and disappointments.

To tell you the truth I'm sick of seeing people struggling to make nickel & dime commissions by following all the crap these guys push. It's sad because in reality they could be making tons of income if they would just step back from all these hyped up marketing products and focus on building their online businesses. Hint: Take your 97 bucks and advertise some affiliate programs or your own products instead of using it to line Mr. Internet marketer’s pockets.

Most people try too hard and give up too quickly when they get into affiliate marketing. There’s nothing difficult about affiliate marketing and there’s no real secret to making money online. All you need is time, basic marketing knowledge and some good old common sense. Oh, and a good pair of "bullshit blocker" sunglasses so you can avoid all the crap being shoveled your way.

Manage your time constructively and start “doing” instead of just reading or thinking about it and you’ll quickly be on the right path. Treat your online business like a real “business” and you’ll go farther than you can imagine.

Are you an info junkie? You know… do you jump on every “next big thing” that all the circle jerks are promoting? I can see this crap coming a mile away, every couple of weeks the next big thing is promoted by all the top newsletter publishers and “self titled” marketing gurus. That’s their plan you know, with their little back end joint ventures and private deals, they quickly flood the market with the next fad product because they know all the affiliate suckers will jump at it with credit card in hand. Do you think it's a coincidence that all these guys promote the exact same programs?

You need to learn how to spot this crap or it’s just going to eat into your wallet. That’s hopefully where the Affiliate Journal can help.

Am I going to tell you all my secrets? That depends on what you consider an internet secret… I’ll be posting all kinds of helpful stuff, and yes there are some custom methods and other things that I have personally developed that I will never leak out, but I can tell you straight up if you read this blog and my newsletter on a regular basis, and more importantly actually use the knowledge and techniques available, they will benefit your Internet business immensely.

So… welcome to the Affiliate Journal, and here’s to your online success!

Dave
